Second Citrix User Group Community (CUGC) event in New York City. Hosted at Societe Generale.
On June 16, the second New York Metro CUGC event was held at the French investment bank Societe Generale in Midtown. Since its last event in March 2016, NY CUGC has evolved and a leadership team has been created. Several new people have join the New York Metro CUGC team who were excited to help out and continue to grow our community throughout the year. This event was in the works for three months, so team was excited to welcome new and existing members of CUGC to Societe Generale. We incorporated much of the feedback that we received from our last event to ensure a more structured meetup and create more audience participation (including trivia and giveaways).

The event provided opportunities for networking and professional development. James Ma introduced the new leadership team of eight Citrix and IT professionals. Our sponsor, Nutanix, gave a presentation on their solution, as well.
This event followed the Citrix Synergy 2016 conference held in Las Vegas, NV and the team had a lot of exciting news to share with the members. Herman Sheynin (@hsheynin) from Citrix provide a recap of Synergy for the attendees. There was also lots of tasty food, catered with help from Nutanix.

Nutanix, the sponsor of the event was represented by Charles Lee (Sales Engineer).

Charles did an excellent job highlighting how Nutanix can simplify the infrastructure stack.
He also announced that Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp are now certified on Nutanix AHV.

Overall, this was NY Metro CUGC’s most successful event to date. We offered a feedback survey at the end of the meetup, and all of the comments were positive! In a continued effort to improve our events based on input from our community members, we will be incorporating technical demos into future sessions. We are excited to bring quality Citrix events to professionals in the NY Metro area, and look forward to seeing everyone at our next NY Metro CUGC event in September.
