The parties & receptions

We had a huge number of parties (too many to attend them all!). The Citrix User Group Community (CUGC) PreGame was a blast with a huge crowd. I’d like to congratulate George Abar and his team for pulling off a great event and bringing CUGC to the light this year.

Citrix hosted the Navigators reception on Monday just before the start of Synergy.

For this event, I thought Citrix would have a speaker explaining how to get the best of this conference when you are a first-timer. Instead, it was a meetup between attendees and Citrix people.

The next day, Citrix hosted the Welcome Reception in the Solutions Expo Hall—free food and drinks all over! Later that night, Citrix hosted a party for its Northeast customers at The Pub. It was impressive to see that hundreds of Northeast customers came to Synergy.

Wednesday was the day where most vendors decided to organize their own parties/happy hours. Most of them were organized in bars next to the Convention Center. I went to the Ivanti and IGEL happy hours.

On the same night, the client appreciation party (M7) was hosted at BB King’s and was a great party. A lot of fun activities like the casino, free cigars, etc.

On the final day, Citrix hosted the Synergy Party at Universal Studio with full and exclusive access to Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

This event was way better than the FallOut Boy concert in Las Vegas last year. After-hours access at a theme park with no lines, free food and drinks all night long was an amazing experience and a perfect way to end this year’s Synergy. They need to work on improving the transportation though. It took us almost 30mins from the Hyatt Regency to go to the park which is only few miles away.
